cv.jpg_SIA - JPG - Fit to Width_144_trueIn the recent NCETM Summer ITT Conferences, each delegate to series of one-day conferences for mathematics teacher educators from across England organised by the DFE-funded Ā NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics) on the implications of the new National Curriculum for ITE was provided with a copy of Dr. Charis Voutsinaā€™s recent paper on ā€œProcedural and conceptual changes in young childrenā€™s problem solvingā€, which was published in the top-ranked journal Educational Studies in Mathematics, Vol.79, No. 2, pp. 193-214. This illustrates the impact of Charisā€™ research on practice in schools, and on ITE, as the new National Curriculum for mathematics is introduced.
