Our final event for the COSMOS project took place at Winchester Science Centre, hosted by Andy Keenan and Jenny Hoppe. This was an event dedicated to celebrating all the hard work that teachers and pupils, and the project team at Southampton Education School and Winchester Science Centre put into the project. We had about 160 children, families, teachers, community stakeholders and school leaders attending from three of the schools participating in the project, Romsey Primary School, Kanes Hill Primary and Hounsdown School. The event started with some networking over food and drinks, with posters showcasing the work pupils have done in school and the outcomes of their actions to solve the issues investigated. We then had a welcome talk and short presentation of the project outcomes by Andri Christodoulou, followed by each school teacher and pupil group doing presentations of the work that took place in their classrooms, their learning and actions. We ended with a show in the Centre’s planetarium learning more about our planet! It was a pleasure to see the children talking about what they learned, what they enjoyed and how they thought they could make a difference through what they learned as part of the COSMOS project! We look forward to continuing our collaboration and further strengthening the close working relationships we have developed with our partner schools, beyond COSMOS!
