Professor Lianghuo Fan, Director of Mathematics, Science and Health Education Research Centre, has recently published, as a co-editor, a research monograph entitled Research on Mathematics Textbooks and Teachers’ Resources: Advances and Issues, with Springer. The book is the result of an international collaboration based on the TSG38 of ICME-13, which was held in Hamburg, Germany in 2016. Besides Professor Fan, the other co-editors are Prof L. Trouche from France, Prof C. Qi from China, Prof S. Rezat from Germany and Dr J. Visnovska from Australia. According to the editors, the book focuses on issues related to mathematics teaching and learning resources, including mathematics textbooks, teacher guides, student learning and assessment materials, and online resources, and it highlights various theoretical and methodological approaches used to study teaching and learning resources, and addresses the areas of resources, teachers, and students at an international level. According to Professor Fan, all the chapters of the books were peer-reviewed and one of the chapters, entitled “A Comparative Study on the Presentation of Geometric Proof in Secondary Mathematics Textbooks in China, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia”, was contributed by him and three doctoral students, Mailizar Mailizar, Manahel Alafaleq, Yi Wang) at the MSHE.
